'What food reminds you of home?'

...and afterwards not only share
but also prepare their favorite dishes
with Social Media influencers & local chefs...

Midea’s slogan is “make yourself at home” and as a brand we were always interested to deeply explore our consumers' behaviours, habits and desires, and understand all about “What makes you feel at home?

After signing the sponsorship deal with EPL Champion Manchester City, Midea asked the very international Manchester City squad the same question: “What reminds you of home?” (especially when their are far away from home!)

Food is always closely connected with memories of “home” and certain dishes, tastes and yummy kitchen smells a nice reminder of home ...most of the time even coming from (y)our childhood, and (y)our time with (y)our parents.

Hence, my Midea team dug deeper and asked the Manchester City players: “Which food reminds you of home?” and “What do you cook, to make you feel at home, and to make yourself at home?”

All Manchester City players came up with a certain childhood dish from their country, which they re-cook frequently to refresh beautiful memories,

Midea did not only share pictures & recipes of those dishes, but engaged famous local cooking influencers and even Michelin star chefs to not only prepare* the Manchester City players favorite dishes (*of course using our broad range of Midea Home Appliances) but also to share the global fans a step by step guidance on “How to recreate” those dishes themselves at home.

The Midea #TasteTactics series quickly became a huge success and fans asked for more Manchester City players to share their favourite recipes.
